Hugo Isaac
Phoenix artist beyond conventions
His background
Hugo Isaac is a self-taught Franco-Swiss artist. After more than ten years as a professional makeup artist, he discovered painting as a path to rebirth following a transformative burnout in 2021. This turning point marked the beginning of a deep exploration of gesture, color, and intuition.
Trained in photography, art therapy, and personal development, Hugo embraces a spontaneous and intuitive artistic practice, where color becomes a language. His work is always abstract and born from an organic process—one tone, one energy, one movement. He chooses not to title his artworks, allowing each viewer to create their own interpretation.
His inspirations are varied: street art, graffiti, nature, silence, music, and human diversity. He works with acrylics, inks, pastels, and spray paint, exploring texture and embracing creative accidents.
His artistic references include Basquiat, Rothko, David LaChapelle, Pat McGrath, and Gregory Crewdson.
Hugo exhibited four times in Geneva between February and October 2023. He is currently developing a hybrid gallery project dedicated to emerging artists and aims to offer workshops focused on artistic liberation.
Through his work, Hugo conveys a message of self-acceptance, freedom, and transformation. He invites everyone to celebrate their uniqueness, unlock their inner creativity, and dance with their fears in the vibrant chaos of life.
